The upcoming adventure-comedy film titled Las Tres Sisters has been making waves with its heartwarming storyline and talented cast. Myriad Pictures recently acquired the U.S. rights to the film, with plans to release it in theaters in the first quarter of 2025. The movie follows the journey of three sisters who reunite after years of estrangement to complete their grandmother’s pilgrimage through rural Mexico.
Las Tres Sisters centers around Maria, the eldest sister played by Marta Méndez Cross, who discovers she has breast cancer and decides to embark on a pilgrimage to find a miracle. She is joined by her sisters Lucia and Sofia, as they set out with an old map and no hiking experience. Along the way, they encounter a series of hilarious and touching experiences on the “camino,” leading them to unexpected revelations and encounters.
The film stars Cristo Fernández, Marta Méndez Cross, Valeria Maldonado, and Virginia Novello in the lead roles. Cristo Fernández also serves as an executive producer through his Espectro MX Films production banner. The movie is directed by Mexican filmmaker Mar Novo, with a script written by Novello, Méndez Cross, Maldonado, and Youssef Delara. The producers include Denisse Prieto, Novello, Cross, and Maldonado, with executive producers Gustavo Castillion and Gonzalo Ruiz de Velasco.
Las Tres Sisters has already garnered attention within the industry, receiving the LFI Works in Progress Initiative Award from the Latino Film Institute and support from Amazon MGM Studios. The film was also featured at the LALIFF Film Market during the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival.
