Southwest Airlines faced another safety issue as an engine cowling fell off of one of its Boeing 737-800 planes during takeoff from Denver International Airport. The Federal Aviation Administration reported that the engine cowling struck a wing flap of the aircraft. The flight, carrying passengers to Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport, was forced to return to the gate in Denver.
As a result of the incident, Southwest Airlines had to transfer customers to a different aircraft, causing a delay of three hours. This unfortunate event left passengers inconvenienced and raised concerns about the maintenance practices of the airline.
