Idris Elba to Direct Short Film Starring Seal and Nollywood Stars

The upcoming short film “Dust To Dreams” is set to be directed by the talented Luther and Hijack star Idris Elba. The film, a collaboration between Mo Abudu’s EbonyLife Films and the African Export Import Bank (Afreximbank) through its Creative Africa Nexus (Canex), will feature a star-studded cast including singer Seal, Nollywood stars Nse Ikpe-Etim, Eku Edewor, Atlanta Bridget Johnson, and former Nigerian Idol contestant Constance Olatunde.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Lagos, Nigeria, “Dust To Dreams” explores the complex relationship between a mother and her teenage daughter as she meets her father for the first time. The project, created by Mo Abudu and written and directed by Idris Elba himself, promises to deliver a heartfelt and poignant story that resonates with audiences.

Mo Abudu will not only serve as an executive producer but also as a producer on the film. Heidi Uys will take on the role of supervising producer, ensuring that the project runs smoothly. Alongside Abudu and Uys, producers Temidayo Makanjuola, Inem King, and Vanessa Demme will also be working on bringing this vision to life.

Multi-Grammy winner and former American’s Got Talent judge, Seal, will be showcasing his acting skills in “Dust To Dreams.” With Nigerian roots, Seal brings a unique perspective to the project.
