CMF by Nothing, a sub-brand of Nothing, has ignited excitement amongst tech enthusiasts by teasing a new product on its social media platforms. The accompanying image showcases a captivating line art of a product design, accompanied by the enigmatic phrase ‘coming soon.’ The speculation surrounding the nature of this upcoming product has sparked various theories, with some users suggesting that it could be a neckband-style earphone. This hypothesis gains traction due to a recently reported CMF-branded product named Neckband Pro listed on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification portal.
The Cryptic Teaser
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), CMF by Nothing uploaded a teaser image that leaves much room for interpretation. The image partially reveals a stem-like structure, complete with a button on the top. Notably, the company’s brand logo is visible towards the bottom. The ambiguous nature of the teaser has prompted commenters to conjecture wildly, with suggestions ranging from a digital thermometer to a smart toothbrush. However, several keen observers have hypothesized that the teaser hints at a neckband-style earphone, with the visible portion representing the end of the neckband housing essential control features like the power button, volume rockers, and microphone.
According to a report by Gizmochina, a product called Neckband Pro, under the ‘CMF by Nothing’ brand, was spotted listed on the BIS portal. This discovery fuels the speculation that the teased product could indeed be a pair of neckband-style earphones. If this assumption holds true, the unidentified product may join CMF by Nothing’s existing lineup, which includes the CMF Watch Pro, CMF Buds Pro, and CMF Power 65 GaN (gallium nitride) adapter. However, it is essential to note that the company has yet to divulge any concrete details regarding a neckband product. As of now, Gadgets 360 has been unable to verify the BIS listing for the product.
In addition to the CMF by Nothing tease, tech enthusiasts have their eyes set on the release of the Nothing Phone 2a, anticipated to launch by the end of February. This midrange version of the Nothing Phone 2 has been spotted on the TUV certification website, piquing the curiosity of potential buyers. Leaked specifications suggest that the Nothing Phone 2a will boast a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with an impressive 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the smartphone is expected to house MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 processor, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Out-of-the-box, it is believed to run on Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.5, providing users with a sleek and seamless experience.
With the enigmatic teaser image, CMF by Nothing has successfully built anticipation within the tech community. Though speculations abound, the possibility of a neckband-style earphone remains a popular theory, especially considering the presence of the Neckband Pro listing on the BIS portal. As for Nothing Phone 2a, eager buyers await its release, hoping to get their hands on a midrange yet feature-packed smartphone.
