The victim, Tadeusz Potoczek, a 61-year-old postman on his way home from work, narrowly escaped touching the live rail on the southbound Victoria Line. This act of violence could have resulted in a tragic loss of life, as the driver of an oncoming train stated that a few seconds later could have been fatal.
After a mere 32 minutes of deliberation, a jury found Shorsh guilty of attempted murder. Despite his claims that he did not intend to kill Mr. Potoczek, the court heard that he pushed the victim onto the tracks in a fit of anger, fueled by perceived disrespect.
