New Arthouse Film “With Love and a Major Organ” Acquired by Circle Collective

Circle Collective, the arthouse distribution label of Utopia, has recently acquired the U.S. rights for the compelling dark comedy “With Love and a Major Organ.” The film, which made its debut in the experimental Visions program at SXSW last year, has created quite a buzz in the film festival circuit. Directed by Kim Albright and written by Julia Lederer, the screenplay is an adaptation of Lederer’s play of the same name.

“With Love and a Major Organ” stars Anna Maguire, known for her roles in “Violation,” “The Hummingbird Project,” and “Saving Private Ryan,” as Anabel, a sensitive and empathetic young woman living in an alternate universe. In this strange world, self-care is manifested through the complete suppression of emotions, and hearts can be readily removed. Anabel, after a significant encounter with a stranger named George (played by Hamza Haq), takes a leap of faith and gives him her heart. However, she is not prepared for the unexpected outcome when he absconds with it.

The film boasts a talented cast, including Veena Sood, Donna Benedicto, and Arghavan Jenati, alongside Maguire and Haq. With Madeleine Davis as the producer and Lori Lozinski and Carol Whiteman as executive producers, “With Love and a Major Organ” is a captivating independent production crafted by an exceptional filmmaking team.

Circle Collective has set its sights on a Spring 2024 release for “With Love and a Major Organ.” President Kyle Greenberg expressed his excitement about the acquisition, stating, “I was lucky enough to cross paths with Kim and the wonderful filmmaking crew of ‘With Love and a Major Organ’ at SXSW, Fantasia, and Santa Fe International Film Festivals last year. I witnessed multiple audiences swoon over this charming and meaningful genre-bender.” Greenberg believes that the film, with its vibrant storytelling by Julia Lederer and mesmerizing performances by Anna Maguire and Hamza Haq, is a hidden gem with the potential to captivate audiences and make hearts race.

Director Kim Albright also expressed her excitement about partnering with Circle Collective and its President, Kyle Greenberg. She stated, “We are so thrilled to be partnering up with Kyle Greenberg and the Circle Collective team. They have fully embraced the film and are the perfect fit for ‘With Love and a Major Organ’.” This collaboration between Albright’s filmmaking vision and Circle Collective’s distribution expertise ensures that the unique and captivating story of the film will reach a wider audience.

“With Love and a Major Organ” is a dark comedy that offers a fresh and thought-provoking perspective on self-care and relationships.
